The Dominican Republic is the second largest and most diverse Caribbean country, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and the Caribbean Sea on the south.  Known for their love of baseball and hospitable people, Dominican Republic is a destination like no other, featuring astounding nature, intriguing history, rich culture and some of the world's favorite beaches.All of this only gets better as you work alongside the locals and fellow ROAMers to revitalize rural baseball fields, an integral part of Dominican culture, and provide baseball clinics to young locals.  Continue serving the local community in hurricane clean-up projects and volunteering at a special needs orphanage.  Paint houses in the community organized by local artists to reflect the Dominican culture.Visit waterfalls, a cacao farm, and partake in traditional Dominican food.  Zipline in the Dominican jungle and play on beautiful beaches. Spend two nights being serenaded to sleep in a tree house in the jungle. Baseball fans/players will love the time spent with local players and everyone in the family will enjoy the service projects and adventure. This expedition is sure to be unforgettable for all ages (8+).

The mission of ROAM Humanitarian is to create meaningful cultural and service experiences for humanitarian participants, execute impactful and sustainable change for communities in need at home and around the world, and to grant service scholarships for deserving families to ROAM with purpose.

$500 deposit will be due at the time of booking, with full payment due 60 days prior to the trip start date.

About this trip

ROAM Humanitarian will provide a time that you must be in the host city and a time that you may depart. You must not arrive after the group time or depart before the group time as to not disrupt the group itinerary. Any accommodations or transfers needed before or after the official expedition dates will be the responsibility of the traveler.Once purchased, please send in your flight information and receipts to hello@roamhumanitarian.org. If you don't do this, you won't receive a tax donor form at the end of the year and you may miss out on transfers between the airport and the hotel.

Due to the nature of our 501c3 status, your expedition fees are considered a donation and are tax deductible. For this reason, your expedition fees are not refundable and trip insurance is strongly suggested. I had the most incredible experience on this humanitarian trip. From start to finish, it was filled with meaningful service, unforgettable connections, and personal growth. The people I met and the work we did truly touched my heart. It opened my eyes in the best way and reminded me of the power of kindness, unity, and purpose. I’m so grateful for the opportunity—this trip was nothing short of amazing!

This was an incredible and impactful experience. Our hearts were filled with love for the beauty of the Fijian people and culture. We will never forget the time we spent in paradise. 

Fiji - Spring 2025

It was exactly as we expected after meetings with Lindsay Bowen. The experiences were amazing and everything was extremely well organized. There was a really nice variety of service projects and each day felt like a new meaningful adventure.  This was a trip that I will never forget sharing with my teenage children.  Thank you!

This was an amazing trip that provided excellent opportunities to spend time with and serve local tribes and schools in need. The ROAM team is very well connected to the local needs and provides tremendous opportunities to see a lot of the surrounding area. ROAM provided a lot of experiences to really connect with the awesome Tanzanian people. We came away from the trip loving the people of Tanzania and their culture. 

I loved how organized this trip was, I always new what was going to happen the next day. This was such a great trip with a wonderful group of women with whom I was able to laugh, play and work beside.  I highly recommend using ROAM as your next group to travel with.

Bali Women Expedition - Spring 2025

An incredible experience to serve, learn and love the people of Bali! A perfect blend of culture, service & adventure! Many magical memories made on this humanitarian expedition! 

The womens trip to Bali is a 12/10! Just amazing and I can't say enough good about it. It filled my soul with love for the balinese people and culture. The projects were meaningful and it meant so much to be able to see and serve first hand as we visited all the sites, met the kids, teachers, and families we were serving. I loved being able to donate to each project and see where it was all going and the faces of the kids and people as we were able to give them books, art supplies, do craft projects with them, and just sit down and play or read a book with them. 27 women total were on the trip and it made it that much more meaningful to be able to meet and serve side by side with like minded people. You leave with 26 new besties! This trip is the perfect mix of service and fun and roam doesn't miss a beat! You can tell every detail is planned with exactness. We got to do a cooking class, yoga, sound bath, swings, and so many other things in between meaningful service. Would do this trip over and over again. It will forever be special  to me!
